Behind the curtains
Hello! I’m Carolina, or Carol. I’m a 20 something-aged creature who lives through history, literature, fiction and fairytales. I speak Portuguese and English (and a bit of Japanese). I’m a vegetarian, and I consider myself of the pagan persuasion. I’m into feminism and liberal politics.
My favorite things other than those mentioned above are nature, books, folklore, fantasy, the supernatural, mori-girl, natural-kei, cute-kei, classical and country lolita, tattoos, crafts, vegetarianism, reading, writing, the XIXth century, the XVIIIth century, the XVIIth century, the Renaissance, the Tudor period, the Borgia family, old monarchy, period movies and tv shows, fantasy movies and tv shows, “childrens’” books and movies, sleeping, dreaming, tarot, green and natural witchcraft, magick, herbs, dried flowers, animals. I am obsessed with birds, roses, crowns, tea and gardens.
My fandoms include Doctor Who, Sherlock (the TV show and the original works), Fringe, Torchwood, Game of Thrones and ASOIAF, Tolkien stuff, Final Fantasy Tactics, all things Brontë, many things Austen, Downton Abbey, The Borgias, way too many period movies/TV shows, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Alien/Prometheus, Terminator/TSCC, most things Whedon (Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse, Firefly & Buffy especially), most things Gaiman (Sandman, Neverwhere, Stardust, American Gods & Good Omens especially), some things Burton, Sweeney Todd (all versions) and other things that currently escape me.
I’m a Magic - The Gathering player and I used to play a lot of table RPGs, though now I basically stick to reading the books and making stories in my head. My favorites are Vampire - The Masquerade/Dark Ages, Mage - The Ascension (as you can see, I don’t favor the most recent “storyteller” system) and all versions of Changeling. I like myself some Forgotten Realms, too, and am not beyond some oldschool Castle Falkenstein. I’m also on Fallen London.
Music-wise, I enjoy indie-poppish vocals such as Lenka, Kimbra, Melanie Martinez, The Honey Trees; post-punk bands such as The Cure, Buck Tick and She Wants Revenge; atypical rock bands such as Placebo and Garbage; crazy “goth” stuff I don’t really feel like labeling, such as ALI PROJECT, Rasputina and Emilie Autumn; an eventual screaming contest such a Dazzle Vision or Dir en Grey; 70s and 80s Brazilian “pop” music such a Milton Nascimento and Raul Seixas; and above most other stuff, Gackt (especially from Mars to The Sixth Day). :P I also rather enjoy folk and classical music, lullabies, music boxes and lots of musicals.

I have a blog, written in portuguese, here:
